Part of our Year 6 Enrichment Programme, which prepares the children for moving on to high school, focuses on a Finance Education Project. The children enjoy looking at the various topics within this project. As well as discussing the value of money and the importance of setting budgets, they also learn about how banks work, interest rates and different types of bank accounts, the difference between debit cards and credit cards and the importance of saving. As well as enjoying the project and the many activities involved in it, the children are learning important life skills. Educating our children to cope in future life is an important part of our independent curriculum at Stella Maris School.
